Jumbo Shrimp (fresh is best,
but I live in Canada, so that's a lie, if they say it's not previously frozen)
White Kidney Beans
Fresh Okra (as opposed to stale)
I kept this one simple, just pan-fried things in succession with the garlic, butter and white wine, starting with the mushrooms. I always start with the mushrooms (or onions), because the longer they cook, the more they caramelize and absorb the flavours of whatever the fuck you put in the pan.
I do add my shrimp last, as no one likes a rubbery thing in their mouth. I'm writing about shrimp here. Stop it. Just stop it.
It's a basic meal, the only real finessing you can do is to NOT cut the vegetables like you are a fuckin' caveman. Clean them delicately, caress them, slice with precision, paying mind to the beautiful features, the wonderful lines and curves of their.....skin.
Again, stop it. Just stop. It's vegetables.
So slice, saute, caramelize, season, and plate with the particularity of a virgin trying too hard.
And then feast when you get it right.
